Mr. Bappi Das, Assistant General Manager of APDCL, recently visited the APEC Lab at NIT Silchar. During his visit, we had the privilege of showcasing a variety of products and and prototypes developed within the APEC Lab. We provided an insightful presentation on how we take ideas from concept to market-ready products, emphasizing the process of development from scratch to completion.
Our research scholar, Mr. Faridul Hassan, presented his ongoing research and demonstrated an experimental hardware setup. A key highlight of his work was the indigenous solar inverter developed at the APEC Lab as part of his research. This solar inverter is designed to support rooftop photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential use, with a capacity of up to 5 kW. It is capable of operating both as a grid-tied and standalone system PV System, aligning with the government's initiative to encourage the installation of rooftop PV systems and promote the generation of green, renewable energy.
The APEC Lab (Advanced Power and Energy Conversion Laboratory) is a leading research facility specializing in innovative power electronics solutions. Our expertise includes the development of advanced technologies for electric vehicle (EV) charging, as well as key power electronic devices such as interleaved converters, Isolated DC-DC converters (DAB), Solar Inverters (three-phase single-phase). Our focus is on designing and developing market-ready products that enhance efficiency, reliability, and overall performance.
Mr. Bappi Das expressed strong confidence in the potential of the APEC Lab and its groundbreaking research. He also committed to serving as a bridge for future industry collaborations, fostering continued growth and innovation within the lab and further advancing its initiatives.
